2007년 11월 25일 일요일 오전 수련으로 이곳 동티모르에서의 아이키도 지도를 마무리했습니다.
The training on 25/11/07, last Sunday was my last Aikido instruction in Timor-Leste.

전날 24일 토요일 오후 수련에는 예상치 못한 손님의 방문으로 더욱 다채로운 수련이 되었습니다. 호주유도협회의 7단 존 윕(John Whipp)씨와 전호주호신술연수회 6단 글렌 가디너(Glen Gardiner)씨가 아이키도 수련을 방문해서 유도와 아르니스를 시범보였습니다. 65세의 노령을 의심케 하는 연무가 이곳의 수련생들에게 좋은 모범이 되었기를 바랍니다. 글렌 씨와는 앞으로도 정보교환을 하기로 약속했습니다.
Last Saturday class was colored with unexpected guests. John Whipp, 7th dan of Australian Judo Assosiation and Glen Gardiner, 6th dan of Jen Goshu Goshin Jutsu(All Australia Self-defense Institute) visited Aikido class and gave us brief introduction and demonstration of Judo and Arnis. 65 year-old's movement should be a good reference and example for students, I hope. Glen and I agreed to have a further contact and exchage of information.

일요일 수련 후 제 소지품들로 경매를 했습니다. 아이키도 관련 티셔츠나 남방, 힙쌕 등을 팔았어요. 공짜로 줄까도 생각했습니다만, 무조건 그냥 주기만 해도 이들에게 좋지 않다고 생각했어요. 경매로 번 19달러는 송별회에 보탰습니다.
Auction was held after the last class with my belongings. Aikido T-shirts, shirts and hip sacks were sold. Once I considered giving those free, but it's not good for them, I thought. The 19 dollar earned was added to a farewell party held that afternoon.
제 도복 3벌과 하카마를 증정했습니다. 도복의 경우는 희망자를 대상으로 가위바위보나 사다리타기로 공정성을 기했어요. 하카마는 그간 저를 물심양면 도와준 지아드씨에게 주었습니다. 이제 제 가방 속에는 회색으로 탈색된 검은띠만 남았습니다. 셔츠와 도복에 사인을 해달라는 학생들 덕분에 저도 홈마 선생님 기분 한 번 내보았습니다.
I gave my 3 personal uniforms and hakama. To make it fair, the winners was selected by a game of 'scissors-rock-kerchief' or a ladder game. The hakama was given to Ziad, who help me both phisically and spiritually. Now only a faded balck blet remains in my luggage. With requests of signature from students, I enjoyed short time of 'becoming Homma sensei'.

마지막으로 동티모르 체육청소년부 장관 감사장과 올림픽위원회의 메달을 받았습니다. 생각지도 못했던 거라 놀랐지만 감사히 받았습니다.
Lastly, I was given a certificate of appreciation from Minister of Youth and Sports of Timor-Leste and a medal from National Olympic Commitee. I really appreciated those.
오후에는 해변에서 모두들 모여 송별회를 했습니다. 간단한 바베큐 파티 후에 모두들 함께 기념사진을 찍고, 동티모르 전통 타이즈와 학생들의 메시지가 담긴 티셔츠를 받았습니다. 마지막 작별 인사로 일일이 악수를 나눌 때 조금 감성적이 될 뻔 했습니다.
A farewell party was held in the afternoon gaining altogether. Took group photos after a babeque party, I again was given Timorese taises and a T-shirts which students' messages were written on. I got a little bit emotional when we exchange hands and hugs for the last farewell.
저는 내일부터 Check-out에 들어갑니다. 한국에는 12월 2일 오전에 입국할 예정입니다. 그간 좋은 일도 있고 나쁜 일도 있었지만, 제가 할 수 있는 모든 것을 다 했다는 만족감이 있어서인지 시원섭섭하다기 보다는 홀가분한 마음이었습니다. 정말 만화 '내일의 죠'의 주인공 죠처럼 '새하얗게 타버렸다'는 기분이었어요.
The check-out procedure will be on from tommorrow. I will arrive in Korea on 02/12/07 in the morining. Having good and bad memories, still I feel light-hearted with satisfaction rather than bitter-sweet, for I've tried hard and done everything I could here. I feel myself like Joe of the manga 'Ashita no Jyo', being 'burnt white'.
동티모르의 아이키도가 'End'가 아닌 'And'로서 꾸준히 계속되길 진심으로 기원합니다.
I give my sincere wish for continuity of Timorese Aikido as the 'AND', not the 'END'.
